As a general dentist in the Knoxville, TN area, I have always wanted to do what I feel is right for the patient. When someone comes to my office and I ask them, “If you could change anything about your teeth, what would it be?” many patients say they want their teeth to be straight. That’s why as a general dentist, I became an Invisalign provider to help these patients meet their goals of having the healthiest and most beautiful smile possible.
Many people do not realize there is a direct correlation between crooked teeth and heart disease. If your teeth are straight, they are easier to clean, easier for the hygienist to remove tarter and plaque, and overall you have less bacteria in your mouth. All studies indicate that lowering the bacteria content of the mouth decreases the chance of other problems throughout the body.
So we could say that Invisalign is a great way to start getting healthier. For eight years now, I have been treating patients with aligners from Invisalign. My Family Dentistry is one of just a few dental practices offering Invisalign in Knoxville, TN.
Invisalign takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using custom-made clear trays that are made for only you. They are smooth, comfortable to wear, and virtually invisible to your friends and family. There are no metal brackets involved or wires to tighten. Treatment consists of popping a new set of aligners in every two to three weeks until your treatment is completed. Most patients tell me that with Invisalign, most people cannot even tell they are straightening their teeth.
Invisalign is not something I recommend for everyone, so I suggest a consultation prior to starting the process. I have had patients from ages 16 to 75 straighten their teeth with Invisalign, so age is not a factor as many people would think. I also recommend traditional braces sometimes for younger kids because they are not as compliant about wearing the aligners.
I have been very satisfied with our patients’ results over the years. If you are interested in straighter, healthier teeth and a great smile, please call my team for a consultation.
