Living and working in Knoxville, Tennessee is awesome. One thing we immediately fell in love with was the great food and restaurants that Knoxville has to offer. One place we have loved and is a Knoxville favorite is Ye Olde Steak House.
My wife and I recently had a kid free evening and we took some friends to Ye Olde Steak House. Our friends had never been and it had been a long time since our last visit as well.
When you pull in to Ye Olde Steak House, you know it’s going be good because the parking attendant tells you to get your car close to another because he’s expecting a lot of people. As you walk up to this building it seems to be tucked under the hill side like something a hobbit would live in. Then as you open the front door, the smell of the steaks grilling hits you in the face and you hear the sounds of people laughing and talking, and suddenly – whether you were a moment before or not – you’re starving for a great steak! And you’re about to get one.
Don’t expect white table clothes, waiters in suit and tie, or leather bound menus. Ye Olde Steak House is about one thing: STEAK! They have an open grill where they grill amazing top cuts of meat to order. You have to taste it to understand how good it really is. Don’t expect to have your tea glass refilled much either, because the glasses are so big it pretty much lasts the entire meal. My wife is a rib eye lover and I’m a filet lover. You really can’t go wrong with a baked potato and steak house mushrooms either. Oh wait – and did I mention they make their blue cheese dressing for the salad in house? Or that I consider it to be one of the best in town?
I can truly say, I highly recommend Ye Olde Steak House. It’s just one of the reasons that we love Knoxville, and one of many local businesses that we enjoy supporting with our patronage.
