Originally from Sarasota, FL, Megan moved to Knoxville in 2013 and joined the My Family Dentistry team in 2016. She began her career in retail and considers transitioning into dentistry as one of the best decisions she ever made.
Megan started out as a dental assistant before moving into the role of Treatment Planning Coordinator and then into the role as Practice Manager. For Megan, the best parts of working at My Family Dentistry are her team and her patients. She believes that our team is “a truly special group of people working together for the best interest of the patient.” She’s passionate about providing high-quality dentistry that changes people’s lives.
In Megan’s free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, trying new recipes, outdoor activities and long walks at the park with her dog, Rudy.
Lori spent nearly 14 years at a multidisciplinary healthcare practice as a front desk office team lead and then a patient care coordinator. She brought that experience to My Family Dentistry team in 2020 to oversee the business operations and handle the finances of the business.
She loves the community she’s found here, saying “I value how the entire staff is dedicated to making sure each patient has a great experience and feels valued. I also want to make sure that our office and procedural systems provide the best possible care to each patient.”
Lori is working behind the scenes with the financial aspects of the business including operation of the office and patient billing and insurance.
Lori and husband have one son, who is a student at Carson Newman University. She enjoys spending her free time with her family, traveling, shopping, watching movies and LOVES to decorate for Christmas with her multiple trees.
Jordan grew up in Maynardville, TN but has lived in Knoxville since 2012. She joined the MFD team in 2018 as a dental hygienist. She has practiced dental hygiene for ten years and has a background in front office administration as well as dental assisting. She recently transitioned out of clinical practice into the role of our treatment planning coordinator.
Jordan uses her clinical experience to help guide our patients through complex care and general dentistry. Her desire is to help patients feel comfortable and informed as they move toward oral health but also to make them feel known and valued. Building relationships with our patients is by far her favorite part of dentistry.
Jordan welcomed her son, Boston, in 2020, and he keeps her busy! When she is not in the office or chasing a toddler, Jordan loves to spend time with friends and family, shopping, traveling, and taking pictures.
I am originally from Limestone Tennessee and after being in the same town for 24 years I decided to spread my wings and move to Knoxville. I have a background in the medical field and was looking to explore my horizons which brought me to My Family Dentistry. Being in the office has brought a new found passion for patient dental health and linked with my passion for patient health. When I am not at work I enjoy being outside in my garden. I also love going to different coffee shops with my friends and exploring Knoxville.
Julie is an East Tennessee native who has been on the My Family Dentistry team since 2006. She earned her Associates and Bachelor’s degrees from ETSU and has experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist since 1998. In addition, she has certification in delivering nitrous oxide, laser therapy and local anesthesia.
Julie, her husband, and their four children love spending time outdoors – fishing, hiking, camping, and playing sports. They also love The Vols and watching games at Neyland Stadium!
Taylor grew up in Maryville, TN, and earned her bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene as well as her anesthesia certification from ETSU. She has also received myofunctional therapy training which allows her to aid in early childhood development and habit correction. In addition, she can aid in orthodontics thanks to her training with Orthobrain.
Taylor came to My Family Dentistry after being highly recommended by a professor at ETSU. She loves improving the lives of others and appreciates that we focus on the overall health of our patients. Working at My Family Dentistry has allowed her to expand her knowledge beyond hygiene where she is able to do much more than simply clean teeth.
When she’s not making patients feel comfortable about their dental work, Taylor can be found enjoying the outdoors. She likes to go boating, camping and hiking, as well as playing outdoor sports. You’ll usually find her with Sunny, her trusty yellow Lab. She is building a house and getting married to the love of her life, Sean, in the year 2023.
Nicole grew up in the small town of Maynardville TN. Her career in the dental profession began as a dental assistant, immediately following graduation from high school. After spending eight years as a dedicated Orthodontic assistant she earned her associates degree in Dental Hygiene at Roane State Community College. She is proficient in administering local anesthesia, nitrous oxide, and oral hygiene care. She strives to keep the patients content and comfortable in the dental office.
Nicole is new to the team and joined My Family Dentistry after meeting Kyleigh in Sunday school class. Nicole is passionate about providing healthy and beautiful smiles.
When Nicole is not providing patient care, she is spending time with her family and Neeko, her adventurous german shepherd. She is very competitive and really enjoys sports and weight lifting. She looks forward to meeting you!
Since her work as a dental assistant while in high school, Laura has been passionate about providing the best possible care for her patients. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene in 2003, she worked in Knoxville and Oak Ridge while Dr. Mullins completed his General Practice Residency and started working at My Family Dentistry from day one in August of 2004. She loves making friends with her patients, helping them feel comfortable, and working with patients to rid them of dental anxiety.
Laura and her husband Wes have 2 children, and Laura splits her time between My Family Dentistry and the various activities of their daughters. In her spare time, she loves hiking in the mountains, bee keeping, gardening, making soaps, and baking tasty treats!
Born and raised in East Tennessee, Kyleigh was captivated by dentistry at a young age thanks to her own experiences with orthodontics. She always knew that she wanted to help transform people’s smiles and is thrilled to be doing it with My Family Dentistry. She loves the difference she gets to make in patients’ lives on a daily basis.
Kyleigh loves spending her time off with her husband Devon and their GoldenDoodle, Kobe. Eating ice cream is one thing all 3 really enjoy.
Kate is a true dental care advocate who believes that a smile is the prettiest thing a person can wear. She always knew she wanted to work in the medical field which led her to become a registered dental assistant. She considers it to be one of the best decisions that she’s ever made.
One of Kate’s favorite parts of working for My Family Dentistry is getting to interact with people all day. She loves the community that she’s found both with her patients and coworkers. She’s thankful for finding her way to our office and we’re thankful for how she brightens her patients’ day as well as their teeth.
Kate is the proud mother of two. If she’s not in the office, you can find her spending every free moment she can with her kids.
Brittany enjoys helping our patients feel at ease when they come into our office. Her extensive knowledge and calming personality help to comfort patients before, during and after their dental procedures. Brittany’s favorite part about working at My Family Dentistry is ensuring our patients understand and implement their treatment plan.
When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Brittany lives here in Powell with her six-year-old son, Parker and their two doggies. They enjoy family time, outdoor activities, and traveling.
Born and raised locally, Kenzie found her love of dentistry through previous experience in orthodontics which helped her later find dental assisting. She knew My Family Dentistry was where she wanted to be after seeing the passion the office has for providing the best care possible. Since being with the team, one of Kenzie’s favorite parts is building relationships with patients and coworkers.
Outside the office, Kenzie can be found with her husband, family, and friends relaxing (or cheering on the vols).
I was born and Raised in Northern California and have been in Knoxville since 2009. In 2019, I got my dental assisting license. This is my first job in the dental field. I love animals and have two cats, Mortimer and Natasha. I enjoy traveling and going to concerts with my fiance. When I am not out, I like spending my time reading and baking.
