Last week, we took a few minutes to talk to My Family Dentistry patient Gordon Bruner, who recently got implants and caps to treat old dental injuries and gum disease.
“I had serious injuries in the past and had not done my due diligence to correct them,” said Gordon, and his “crazy hours” had made it difficult for him to find the time to get the treatment he needed. “I work 7 days a week, 365 days a year,” he said, “and I just didn’t take the time.”
Gordon can’t remember who told him about Dr. Mullins first, but “someone said, ‘there’s this really good dentist,’” so he scheduled an appointment. According to Gordon, Dr. Mullins and the staff at My Family Dentistry were just what he was looking for.
Dr. Wes helped him make a decision about treatment “based on my personal needs, based on what’s the best solution. We worked through the process, and… he took a lot of time to explain.”
“Wes is always very accommodating… His willingness to work with you is just phenomenal,” Gordon said, and “his office [staff] is just the best… I just love every one of them to death!”

Here’s how Gordon answered a few of our questions:
How did your dental issues affect your life?
“I had pain, I had to chew a lot of gum, I didn’t smile a lot, and I couldn’t eat what I wanted to eat – your health suffers some, too.”
Did you have any discomfort with your dental implant surgery? How was your recovery process?
According to Gordon, the only discomfort was during the fittings of his permanent zirconia teeth “There were times when it was uncomfortable,” but “You know, there really wasn’t pain from the surgery part… there just wasn’t.”
How do you feel about your results?
“I love my results! I get compliments on them all the time. I can eat anything I want, I look good, I feel good!” He also pointed out that the dental care with implants isn’t much different that with natural teeth: “I get cleanings just like a normal person.”
“In my opinion, it was worth the money. I’ve got Ferrari teeth!”
Are you more comfortable or confident?
“I’ve got beautiful teeth. I walk around with my mouth wide open!”
What’s the biggest reason people should choose MFD?
“The overall experience, from the environment to the personalities and attitudes of the people who work there… how professional and personal they can be at the same time.”
Do you think the atmosphere at MFD makes a difference?
“They put a lot of effort into making people comfortable.” Gordon also commented on “how open [the office] is… they don’t have everyone hidden away in a room by themselves.”
Would you suggest MFD to friends and family members?
“In a heartbeat! They’ve always been there for me no matter what – I’d recommend them to anybody in the world!”
How would you describe the customer service at MFD?
Shortly after Gordon was fitted with the custom-manufactured titanium teeth to fit his implants, one of them broke. He brought the damaged tooth back immediately, and we replaced at no cost to Gordon. “As far as customer service, it was above and beyond in my opinion. They stuck with their warranty just like they said they would… Their commitment to that is very refreshing. They want to do the right thing.”
