Get a smile you’ve been wanting
One of my favorite procedures to do, I actually performed crown lengthening, which is making someone’s teeth look longer on my own daughter. One of the things that we noticed is their teeth look short. They weren’t damaged on the edge, but she had a gummy smile. So essentially, gum contouring is uncovering what is already there. And a lot of adolescents and a lot of adults that have a gummy smile, sometimes gum contouring is necessary to expose tooth structure that’s there.
And so what this can do for patients is provide a small makeover that is really pretty easy. Doesn’t require any damage to be done to the teeth. Doesn’t require veneering or cutting down teeth. And it doesn’t even require much time and healing. You get immediate results after surgery. The healing period, of course, is a short period of time. And you’re back to your normal day and function in life in really little time out…downtime away from your normal functions and daily tasks. For me, it was personal, right? Because I got to give my daughter, you know, her teeth, which was basically teeth that she already had. I just uncovered them. It’s uncovering what you already have and giving you back a smile that you really, you know, have been asking for.
