Regular care at our office is beneficial to patients because it creates less problems down the road. By seeing us every six months for a cleaning and exam, you’ll get treatment for infections in the early stages. We can also remove the plaque and tartar build-up from your teeth. You can’t do that with only an at-home routine! When you come in for your appointment, here is what you can expect:
Depending on the condition of your mouth, you may need to return at another time for additional treatments. For example, if you have cavities or dental damage, we’ll repair your teeth with restorative treatments. Or we’ll provide relief for TMJ disorders or sleep apnea with a special mouthguard.

You can get a dental cleaning and exam here. One of our experienced hygienists will clean your teeth and perform an initial exam of your teeth, gums, and mouth. They’ll note any suspect areas that your dentist will need to take a closer look at after coming in to do a complete exam. Between your hygienist and dentist, your smile will get the best treatment possible during your cleaning and exam.
The American Dental Association recommends brushing your teeth at least twice a day and flossing at least once a day. But that is only part of maintaining good oral health. Brushing and flossing won’t remove dental plaque that builds up and hardens on your teeth and infects your gums. Only a trained hygienist has the skills and equipment to do that, which is why you need to visit the dentist for cleanings and exams about twice a year.
